Have you ever wondered how audit environment factors, like geographic team distribution and rotating teams, affect staff professional development? My recent study published in Accounting, Organizations and Society examines this issue with audit supervisors. We find that supervisors are more likely to provide constructive feedback and coaching to junior staff when the staff are in the same office and/or when the senior auditors know the staff will be working with them again in the future.
